I am a graduate of Saybrook University’s PhD Clinical Psychology program. Please note: As a person who holds a PhD, I am able to call myself a “doctor,” and use “PhD” and “Dr.” in materials that refer to me or are signed by me. However, as a postdoctoral fellow and psychological resident, I am not a licensed clinical psychologist. As a postdoctoral fellow and psychological resident, I have completed all educational and training requirements that allow me to provide supervised professional psychological services in Washington State under the guidance and supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Upon completing my required supervised experience and exam, I will be eligible to apply for clinical psychology licensure. If you seek services from a licensed clinical psychologist, please feel free to consider other providers, either on this site or wherever you may choose.

Dr. Gwendolyn Sipes is a postdoctoral fellow and psychological resident at Eastside Psychological Associates working toward clinical psychology licensure under the supervision of Dr. Bethany Balkus, PsyD.  Dr. Sipes works collaboratively with clients to develop a plan that addresses their challenges and achieves their goals by integrating evidence-based, mind-body, and creative practices. Her warm, compassionate, culturally sensitive approach encourages clients to explore and make meaning of their experiences while developing practical tools to manage daily stressors and increase their quality of life. She is passionate about helping people of all ages navigate the complexity of grief from loss of all types, including death.

Dr. Sipes graduated with her master’s and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Saybrook University where she focused her training in existential and humanistic psychology. She completed her internship at the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership and has worked in outpatient clinics.
