Melissa Cope, MSW, LICSW, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington State who specializes in providing services for children and adolescents ages 16 and under.  She received a Master of Social Work from West Virginia University and has completed research and specialized training in equine-facilitated psychotherapy. 

Melissa has spent her career helping children with disabilities overcome a variety of challenges, and utilizes parent training/coaching for additional support when needed.  She specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety, Depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Conduct Disorder (CD), emotional regulation concerns, and social skills development. 

Melissa primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), but also employs other theoretical models to supplement therapy when appropriate.  She highly values a collaborative approach, and has worked within interdisciplinary teams and with schools in order to provide cohesive care to her clients.  Melissa provides both traditional psychotherapy services as well as equine-facilitated psychotherapy (EFP) in partnership with Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center.
