Dr. Ifeyinwa Nwangwu is a post-doctoral fellow who works with individuals and couples. She is working towards obtaining her psychologist licensure under the supervision of Dr. Sharon Young. Dr. Nwangwu has training and experience in delivering the following evidence-based treatments: Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Parent Child Intervention Therapy (PCIT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Dr. Nwangwu completed her doctoral training at Northwest University. Her diverse clinical training settings include community mental health centers, an outpatient psychiatric hospital for suicidal patients, an outpatient eating disorder clinic, a non-profit organization for immigrants and low-income residents, and a government agency for at risk children. She also has experience working with children and families impacted by neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically autism spectrum disorder.

Dr. Nwangwu identifies herself as a bilingual African immigrant. Her previous graduate training in International Community Development (MA, ICD) has helped in shaping her into a clinician that sees cultural values as an integral aspect of our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well beings.
